Raising Voices and Leaders: A Morning at Young Actors Theatre

Some mornings remind you exactly why the arts matter — and the Young Actors Theatre of Tallahassee’s Women’s History Month Leading Ladies Breakfast was one of those moments.

From the first note sung, the room belonged to the young performers. Their voices were confident, joyful, and full of possibility. Watching them perform was more than entertainment; it was a living example of what happens when young people are given creativity, mentorship, and a stage. Young Actors Theatre doesn’t just teach performance — it builds confidence, collaboration, and leadership skills that last far beyond the spotlight.

It is related to the Young Actors Theatre's Leading Lady 2026.

I was deeply honored to be recognized as one of the 2026 Leading Ladies, an acknowledgment of my advocacy supporting the arts across Florida through my work as Chair of the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of DBG Promotions. For me, arts advocacy has always been about ensuring opportunities like these exist — where young artists discover their voices and communities discover their shared stories.

What made the honor even more meaningful was standing alongside extraordinary women whose leadership strengthens Tallahassee and our state every day:
