Our office has been anticipating the potential fall out from a UPS strike. The majority of our orders are shipped UPS therefore it’s important to prepare for the uncertainty of August 1st. Here’s some common sense advice on how to are navigating the potential labor dispute and strike:
- Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on the situation by following reliable news sources and official statements from UPS and relevant labor unions. This will help you understand the extent of the strike and its potential impact on your area or shipments. (We are in touch daily with our UPS reps and peers in the industry. )
- Plan Ahead: If you’re expecting shipments or have packages to send during the strike period, consider making alternative arrangements. Look into other shipping carriers or methods that might still be operational. (We are actively using other shipping options for any order shipping July 27th)
- Communicate with Suppliers or Customers: If you’re a business owner, communicate with your suppliers and customers about the potential delays or disruptions caused by the strike. Being proactive about the situation can help manage expectations and avoid misunderstandings. (We are informing our customers that there is a potential for delay. This may not be a time where we can deliver a rush deadline order.)
- Stock Up on Essentials: If you anticipate the strike causing delays in the delivery of essential items, consider stocking up on necessities in advance to tide you over until the situation is resolved. (It’s a good time to do silk screen t-shirts or embroidered garments- we have the product and production locally!)
- Be Patient: In the event of a strike, there might be delays and disruptions in the shipping and delivery processes. Practice patience and understanding while the situation is being resolved. (Sometimes it’s hard to be patient when you have planned an event and expect to have your imprinted items available for your attendees. We will make alternative suggestions if we see that we are unable to deliver on time your items.)
- Explore Local Options: If possible, explore local businesses or stores for your needs during the strike period. Supporting local businesses can help both you and the community during challenging times. (We have multiple promotional products options within a 2 hours drive. We are ready with options that do not require UPS / Fedex or another shipper).
- Follow Updates from UPS: Keep an eye on UPS’s official communications and social media channels for updates on the strike and when normal operations are expected to resume. (Stay tune to this blog for more info)
Remember, these are general tips, and the specific actions you should take will depend on the circumstances surrounding the potential UPS strike on August 1st, 2023. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, rely on trusted news sources and official communications from UPS.
